The use of a paddle shift system - where allowed in motorsport race applications - offers many significant advantages. Since the engine ECU handles all shift requests and only allows gear changes when pre-programmed conditions are fulfilled. This prevents over-revving of the engine during down shifts, saving on costly engine rebuilds. Since the shift pressure is also controlled in closed loop by the engine ECU, this ensures that all actuated gear shifts are identical, there are no change in how the actual gear shift is performed, preserving the gearbox dog rings and gear wheels.
The OBR motorsport paddle shift all-in-one shift actuator has been carefully designed and engineered to become a single unit, combining valve block and shift actuator, reducing weight and simplifying installation. The paddle shift actuator unit feature diagnostic LED's on each of the two solenoid valves and clear access to valves for easy customer serviceability.
Spare parts such as replacement valves can be purchased individually or in pairs directly from OBR.
OBR motorsport paddle shift system is supplied with a powder coated air accumulator with built in 10 bar pressure sensor and air filter.
A pair of high quality CNC billet aluminium shift paddles are included along with separate air compressor unit.
OBR paddle shift hardware is directly compatible with any Euro 4, Euro 5, Euro 8 and Euro 12 engine management system ECUs from EFI Technology.
OBR paddle shift hardware can also be fitted into equivalent shift kits from other manufacturers. All parts are sold separately as well as in kit form.
